Do you surf the web frequently? Then you should know that having a reliable virus scanner on your computer is a necessity. You see, there are so many viruses and forms of spyware out there that you can find it difficult to keep up with them. The best way to protect your computer and all the valuable information it holds is having an anti virus software on your computer and updating every single day.

Glowing Lights Photoshop Tutorial

Monday, October 30th, 2006

Watch and Learn Photoshop has released another excellent tutorial. This time the tutorial shows how you can make a light bulb look like it’s illuminated. An effect that is quite common in concept stock photography. I am sure everyone has seen pictures of business men holding a lit light bulb. This tutorial explains how you can achieve this effect.

Description

In today’s tutorial, trainer Geoff Riggs will teach you how to take an image of a light bulb that’s turned off and add a glow to it to make it look like it’s illuminated.

A Review of the Zone Alarm Firewall

Friday, October 20th, 2006
I think that Zone Alarm firewall is one of the best computer aides in the market. You can be assured that your computer is protected if you use it along with an anti-virus software such as McAfee. In my opinion, it is more effective and user friendly than a software such as Windows Defender. I also do not think that you should rely solely on the protective software that came with your computer.

How do you make stained glass?

Thursday, October 12th, 2006
*not sure if this is the right place for this*
*also I found out you cannot put IFCode in the title or description for threads :( - can you delete the other one please?*

I've been working on a hobby build cathedral and I have found someplace where I could use definite improvement, stained glass. I've been trying not to photo resource anymore and have gotten my builds to almost 100% original textures also I'm not a deeply religious person and most images on the internet depict the symbolism of various faiths. I just want to make something that is pretty and looks like real stained glass.

I've created patterns using splotches of color and Photoshop filters like crystallize, cut out, and others. I've played with the hues, the levels, and the saturation. I've applied transparency and used various erase brushes to add a bit of texture to the glass. I've tried a lot of things.

I'm getting decent results but I know it can be better. So how do you do stained glass? I'm not looking for insider seecreeetss, just tips if you have them. I consider myself pretty well versed in Photoshop so feel free to glob on the info. Thanks!

beta tool - SL Clothes Previewer

Sunday, October 8th, 2006
Hi, inspired by threads on the SL forums I just wrote this little app for previewing textures on an SL avatar. It's still pretty spare, but I think it will be useful to clothing and skin designers.

Save Big Money With Used PS2 Games

Friday, October 6th, 2006
It’s easy to see that most present day teenagers are obsessed over electronics and contemporary video games. It truly is a never-ending cycle. However, these new-age games can be expensive. You can spend as much as 60 bucks for a single video game. Imagine how much you will spend on video games over time.

Alternative Building Tools

Monday, October 2nd, 2006
I see alternative building tools like Skidz and Prim Docker and wonder if they are worth the money. I also wonder how they are at making small items such as jewelry and fine detail work like on an instrument or sthing. It seems they may be of more use on big items but i haven't been able to get any feedback.
