As you may have already know, Nokia pushed out a second minor firmware update for the Nokia N96 more than a week ago but without any word about the canges and improvements!

However, in meantime I came into possession of some documents that reveals differences to previous SW releases as well as highlighting the known issues with the current firmware release.

Firmware version 11.101 is obviously just a minor update without any new features or significant improvements and Nokia has rolled it out just to fix a number of stability and performance glitches! New firmware is already available on the Nokia Software Updater servers for the most generic product codes and altho... .. .

Hy Guys! Well, today i decided to visit my favourite Electronics Store near me and like expected, they already had some Devices of the new Nokia "Flagships" N85 and Nokia N96 on Stock.

They was not allowed to give me one of each to took some better Pictures, so i just took them off the Shelves, grabbed out the Nokia E66 of my Pocket and just shot along...

The FCC's formal decision to approve Nokia N79 is not surprise and as usually its documents just confirm the existence of the US version of the Nokia N79!

Nokia N79 NAM (internally known as Nokia RM-350) is the North American 3G compatible version of the Nokia N79.

NAM means that phone is optimized for North America 3G networks which mean that it works on WCDMA networks with frequencies range of 850 MHz and 900MHz, while the typical Euro models feature 850/2100MHz! Nokia N96 is a device that pretends to be flagship Nokia phone but certainly it is not taking the market by storm as had been hoped by the worlds largest handset manufacturer, retail staff reveal! Customers are totally disappointed with the Nokia N96 and somehow, I am not surprised at all, it is pretty close to what we were expected and actually I predicted that Nokia N96 has no chance to beat mighty Nokia N95!

There are two more than obvious reasons, outrageous cost and just a slight improvement on its predecessors!! Don't get me wrong, I am not saying it is a bad phone but if you ask me, there were no real innovations or upgrades over its predecessor beside the 16GB of flash memory build in! It looks like the Nokia N95 treated with some bad Chinese steroids that caused some stran... .. .

Was just thinking, can we make some difference to the society in general with our mobile application development skills? After all, the now ubiquitous mobile is used by every body from the ultra rich to ordinary laborer in developing countries.

And if we can somehow develop an application which can solve some of the problems that the poor face across the world, it will be the greatest contribution by mobile technology to mankind.

Of course despite all my good intentions I could perhaps never get around to developing such an idea into a workable application on my own. But now, I guess I must give it a shot along wit... .. .
